About me
Yoga is a lifelong teacher!
Let’s continue our journeys together
Namaste dear all,
My name is Lisa. I am a passionate yoga teacher, writer, lover of life and I am excited to meet you here.
I started my own yoga journey in 2005. Being a sports scientist, movement has always played an important role in my life but little did I know what I was getting myself into, when I took my first yoga class! Back then, for me, yoga was mainly a way of physical exercise. I way to gain flexibility and strength. Of course I felt the relaxing effects of yoga but after all I was a sports addict - and improving my fitness was my main goal. Until today I am madly in love with what we call Power Vinyasa Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, types of yoga that are physically challenging.
But yoga wouldn’t be yoga, if it wouldn’t have its very own magic. Eventually happened what finally had to happen and always will happen if you stick to yoga just long enough: Without me even realising, everything that also is yoga, sneaked into my life and started to open doors, I didn’t even know where there. As a result who I thought I was started to change. It all started with a subtle feeling, a first thought that I
would like to learn more about yoga, its wisdom and its philosophy. With time the feeling grew stronger, questions started piling up in my mind, a deep urge to know more was born. What first started as a workout turned into a life long journey which - until today - helps me to return to my true self, to discover who I truly am and to live in peace and harmony will all living beings - including myself. Slowly, gradually, step by step. At some point I finally packed my bags and spent the better time of 5 years on and off in India where I discovered Vipassana meditation and much more of the old wisdom and magic of Mother India. I also spent 3 years in Latin America where I worked with several shamans and fell in love with the culture and way of life. During these times I also completed various teacher trainings: Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra, Ashtanga Vinyasa, Pilates (mat and machines, classic and contemporary), TRX, and I became a certified Ayurvedic yoga massage therapist. Since 2010 I have been teaching in studios and retreats around the world. If I am not standing on my mat I write for various travel and alternative health magazines.
